WTS appoints Dave Cheesman to head up new production distribution division

WTS has appointed Dave Cheesman as its first Product Channel Manager. He will oversee the new product distribution division of WTS, with the aim of building a worldwide network for innovative products for the broadcast market.

Mr Cheesman brings with him 15 years of sales experience, including 10 years at Sony – the last five of which were as AV Media and Solutions Regional Sales Manager for northern Europe. He joins WTS with effect from Friday 10 April, and will represent the company at the NAB Show in Las Vegas.

Welcoming Cheesman to the company, Ben Murphy, Sales Director for WTS, said: “Dave has a wealth of experience in dealer channel management, having run the north Europe region of Sony’s broadcast arm for the last five years. We are looking forward to him joining WTS at this exciting time, as we continue to expand our global reach and add new services to our portfolio.“

Having worked closely with WTS whilst at Sony, Cheesman said he had “always been impressed by the way the company does business and the breadth of its offering. I was attracted to the role as an opportunity to work with an exciting team on a global scale, developing a sales channel with new and exciting products.”

With offices in London, Leeds, Paris, Lagos and Hong Kong, and more due to open this year, WTS‘s global presence meant the company was well-placed to help manufacturers expand their reach, said Murphy. “Coupled with the wealth of in-house expertise we can offer across a range of broadcast products, as well as logistics and after-sales support, we are an ideal master distributor, be that in EMEA or APAC,” he said.

“For many years WTS has sold not only to end-user clients but also via a large network of re-sellers across the world,” Murphy continued. “We are now formalising this and drawing on those years of experience – experience that has given us the ability to move broadcast equipment from source to even the most remote of markets very efficiently.”
